She spoke often of her "hometown" which, in her act she called Grinder's Switch. I watched a documentary on her once and they said when asked what Grinder's Switch meant to her she replied, "heaven on earth."
Instantly I adopted this as my own. My husband & I liked the idea of referring to our home as Grinder's Switch, our little piece of heaven on earth. We still call it that even after 17 years of marriage. We've had good times and bad times, with the good out weighing the bad. To us our home is a place of comfort, and acceptance. A place to live, learn, laugh and to be loved. We are not perfect by any means and of course God is still working on us. (Philippians 1:6)

One day I'll go to my real home in Heaven to be with my Savior. When I die, life will have just begun for me. I pray that I finish well, and won't be ashamed. Really though my only hope is in Him who died for me, because without His sacrifice for my sinful self I would not have that "Eternal Home" to put my hope in. Until that day Grinder's Switch will do for me. Because of His mercy & grace I can enjoy "heaven on earth".
